MORE ABOUT NUSA PENIDA AND THE MANTA RAYS:
Nusa Penida, located 20km south-east of Bali, is the largest of Bali's 3 sister islands - Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan - and is characterised by the dramatic, steep cliffs along its coastline.
At Manta Point, a protected bay located southwest along the coast of Nusa Penida, the ocean is rich with plankton and attracts reef manta rays, which measure an impressive 4-5 metres in wing-span and are black on their backs and white underneath.
While there can be strong swells in this area due to the Indian Ocean waves that pound the coast, we monitor conditions and take you there as long as it is safe and there are manta rays swimming less than 1.5 metres from the surface.
If conditions are not suitable, we will adjust our snorkel itinerary accordingly. Your safety is our no. 1 concern.
MORE ABOUT SOME OF THE OTHER SNORKEL SITES WE WILL VISIT:
1. CRYSTAL BAY - famous for its excellent visibility of up to 40m+ on a good day. The highlight of your trip with healthy live coral reef and hundreds of fish of all shapes and sizes
2. TOYAPAKEH - located north west of Penida Island, boasting a dramatic coral wall that drops off to a 190m! Boasts huge schools of colorful fish swimming through including the red tooth triggerfish, giant trevallies and batfish.
3. GAMAT BAY - located on the western side of Nusa Penida. The steep, rugged reef slope is rich in hard and soft corals and is colorful down to 50+m.
