Ubud Fireflies Tour - A Countryside Adventure

Description

If you've always wanted to see fireflies (or as we call them in Bali 'Kunang-kunang'), this special night tour is a must-do during your trip to Bali. In Ubud, fireflies can be seen in their natural habitat, especially in unspoiled and unpolluted rice fields, far away from crowded areas. Unfortunately, places like these are becoming more rare as urbanization and the population in Bali increases, placing the fireflies in Ubud at risk of losing their homes.

On this special night tour, we've handpicked a few locations and bring you to 3-4 during the evening so you get to soak in the evening atmosphere in remote and peaceful villages. During our time together, you will learn about the behavior and uniqueness of these insects. You will also be given the opportunity to catch and release the fireflies. While enjoying the twinkling lights of fireflies, you will also hear the other sounds of the countryside, with crickets, frogs, gecko, etc in the distance. We also teach about the rice paddies & harvest cycle, subak irrigation system, ducks, and animals.

Our itinerary:
17.00 - 18.30: Pickup from your hotel
19.00: Dinner at a local restaurant in Ubud - an a la carte menu with a choice of chicken, fish or duck cooked with Balinese spices will be served.
20.30 - 22.30: Fireflies tour.
22.30: Depart from Ubud for your hotel. Arrival will be around 11.30pm

Let the glow of the fireflies give you an unforgettable experience during your trip to Bali!

Notes

We limit our tours to 3 times a week in order not to disturb the nature and the people living in the village. Give fireflies the time to rest and continue their reproductive cycle.

The best month to see the fireflies is from April - October, but as long as it's not raining, we should be able to see the fireflies.
